This story really pisses me off. I want to send the prosecutor some hate mail but I'm afraid he'd track me down and try to get me charged with something.

This is from one of the comments on the huffpo article. I'm NOT saying this is true, or that even if it is that the prosecutor is not acting inappropriately, but it might be a reason for why the school officials would have it out for this kid.

So he's a dick.

None of that warrants 13 days in jail for a fricking pocket knife. They were just looking for an excuse it seems.

Agreed. I don't care if the kid was a huge trouble maker, 13 days in jail for a pocket knife that had been locked in his car is psychotic.

He's right there is more to this story I went to school with this kid and I've had the same public safety class as him, Jordan had never got his state certificate, and he would never be able to either because he had missed too many days of school, and no he wasn't a volunteer firefighter, he got kicked out of these departments as a explorer, due to him breaking the rules, running lights and sirens to calls, and disrespecting authority, now in order to run lights and sirens to calls you have to be a licensed emergency service provider, he wasn't, and you have to be out of school in order to do so, he wasn't out of school when he was running lights and sirens, most of the days last year when we were going through the criminal justice portion, at the end of class he would run to his car pager in hand turn on the lights and sirens and burn out of the parking lot, and when he got there he would take pictures of which included, car crashes, dead bodies, and structure fires and post them on the internet, these were the fire departments he was an explorer at, Conneaut, Geneva, and Sheffield, they will say the same thing that I told you in this comment.

Well that is interesting. It might justify the search, but it doesn't justify the charges. Sounds like he needed a sit down, not a get drug through the legal system.

Yeah, this kid is a huge dick. But 13 days in jail over a pocket knife in your car? And not allowing him to see his granddad is the worst part

administrators at A-Tech approached Wiser after someone allegedly tipped them off about videos Wiser had uploaded to YouTube.

The YouTube account in question appears to include reviews of video games and merchandise, demonstrations on home defense tactics and an interview with a local police officer.

Oh well, we wouldn't want a young man to think about such things as self-defense or anything approaching violence for any reason. Makes total sense that school officials would be alarmed after receiving a hot tip that one of their students was displaying non-pacifist tendencies

Meanwhile, in Russia: Russian students practice fast AK assembly and disassembly

Has any society in history done like ours and made a concerted effort to turn its young men, its natural protectors, into weenies who think nothing is worth fighting for other than "social justice" causes?

Pull your children out of government schools.

I'm gonna take a guess and say the school and law enforcement is hiding behind a bull shite zero tolerance policy to cover their asses if there isn't more to this story.

Was this on school grounds? How stupid do you need to be to bring a knife on school grounds. Throw the book at him. But how did they know it was there?

I think the army, once learning the full story of his bullshite arrest and jail time, will happily accept his application.

Oh, grow up. I used to keep a pocketknife in my truck. Never even occurred to me it could be a problem.

I used to have a job where I would sell knives during high school. I kept ?the knives locked up in my car, and after school would go to work. Never appeared to me that if they wanted to ever randomly search my car, that judge would probably charge me with 1000 counts of attempted murder for every person who goes to that . Or some retarded shite like that. This whole story seriously just fricked up my mood
