Found some blockages in drainage and cleared them out. Water receded some so seems to be helping

Water is already close to overflowing Corporation Canal (Old Bayou Duplatier) just north of E State St and the rain is unrelenting. We made it through in 2016, but not looking good today.

There is some minor road flooding on Bluebonnet by the library and starting to come over Highland road in btw Siegan and Bluebonnet. Fairly normal but this rain is relentless...

I know baton rouge has hired some help to finally clean some of the drainage around the city in the last year so hopefully it's more efficient now

I have 4 12" catch basins that drop down to an 8" trunk line. That shite was struggling to keep up for awhile... Clean them out real quick, we are back in bidness.

Ward Creek is rising, but it's also moving, so hopefully a bunch of volume can get out to the Amite before the next round of storms.

Moving is good, on radar it looks like we are about to get a decent break

.Our pool looked like one of those infinity pools for a minute. Had to turn the overflow pump on.
That usually doesn’t happen without 4+ inches of rain in one day.

Jones Creek in Woodland Ridge is very high. Hard to take a good pic from the truck

It is, but as long as we get a break it should fall pretty fast out to the Amite....

Oh I know it well. Grew up in that neighborhood when I was a young lad.

Me too... On the Blvd... by the bridge. Good times in the 70's and 80's, safe with lots of kids to play with.
