That would be "Enforcement" which is why they're putting more money in that category.

Good point, but the government always names things something nice, but when we find out what it actually is, it’s anything but nice. Like the “Affordable Care Act” which is anything but affordable!

Why else would they hire this many people?

They'll go after anything they can find. Any gray area write offs, receipt recapture, etc.

You've never dealt with them. frick off.

To make sure people are doing what they should have been doing for the last 100 or so years.

So there is no chance they just need to increase like everyone else? You think it’s more likely all of those were specifically hired to target right wing individuals?

Be specific, and also provide answers to why they waited 100 years to enforce those things.

We will patiently wait

Based on what? What specifically are they targeting in small business?

Any number of things. High number of cash transactions, expenses/deductions, etc

Did people just forget that last year the IRS announced it was going to increase small business audits by 50% for 2021? What would make them change course going forward?

Overfunding a bloated and growing incompetent government class that exists only to fleece the people and enrich themselves?

Nothing they do is efficient, most of what they do is either unnecessary or outright corrupt, and they cheat so well it’s hard to pop the ticks off the host.

Mingo, say you and I go rent a beach house that cost 2,000. I pay for it. I have now used my income that was taxed and also paid sales tax on that.

Now you send me the $1000 via venmo and that is now taxed.

I have been triple fricked.

pretty concerning that so many "adults" think this is true

Well, last time that the democrats were in office, the IRS specifically targeted right wing organizations, so I don't think that it is too far of an assumption to make.

The fact that they are using so much money on enforcement and not on taxpayer services to answer the phone is absurd. Dealing with the IRS for anything right now is next to impossible, and this bill does little to nothing to help that.

Most of the players from 2008-2016 are most likely who is running the show and pulling Biden's puppet strings, so I don't see why anyone with any sense would think that is a stretch to think they will again target political opponents.

Things like companies saying people are contractors when they are in fact employees or self employed people taking their family to Destin and writing it off as a business expense.

Why now? Because they're willing to spend the money. Will the do it well? Almost certainly not.

All our government is are two parties continuously trying to one up the other. They constantly fight for power (because when you break it down it breaks down to self interest) and "the people" are nothing but pawns.

They feed people a bunch of bullshite about bullshite issues that get people worked up. Both sides want their people to think that whatever issue they are most worried about is being threatened because that's what gets people out to vote.
