How am I supposed to bang a stewardess in the "smart car of the sky"?

Do like I did and buy into a partnership where all the expenses are shared by the partners. I pay 130/month plus 75/hr whenever I go flying.

How much do you get to use it on the weekends?

Have a friend that has one and he picked it up for around 35K. If you are serious about flight training you can save more money by just buying one and paying an instructor directly rather than having to pay for an aircraft per hour.

When Dad went to buy a plane, he initially wanted a Mooney. But, since he was "retired and not in a hurry to be anywhere", he bought a 172 (though it had a motor upgrade). Mom could also climb in easier with the high wing.
It was nice and convenient. Want to visit the grandkids? He'd come pick them up in the plane.

My favorite 172 story: My mom wanted a barn cat to kill mice. I told her I had one - a mean purple-gray cat that we called "purple cat." I tricked him into a cat carrier and took him to the local airport where Mom and Dad were flying in to pick him up. Apparently, the cat did not take to flying and went wild in the box, with fluids coming out of every available orifice.
Dad calls me when he gets home. "... I've flown in three wars, been shot at, have had planes damaged, and have had some rough flights, but this flight was the most miserable flight I have ever had."

Having been an A & P Mechanic for 30 years a few pilots I've known that have their own aircraft said the cheapest part of owning an airplane is buying it.

You can find them in the 20-30k range

Costs are much higher than that.
Only if you rebuild or replacean engine. Most people don't hanger a 172, you just tie it down.

Do it it's a lot of fun. I was in a group that had a 172 and then a mooney. Only problem is you can't use it spur of the moment and everyone wants to use it to fly to away games. I have a Bonanza now. If you can find a way to use it for business

You obviously know nothing about actually owning an airplane.
Costs are much higher than that.
This is why you make extra compartments for the kilos.

Don't tell the HOA. Or do, depending on whether you get along with your neighbor.

It's available most weekends. Most of the guys I'm in the partnership with do their flying during the week which frees up the plane over the weekend. We also use Google calendar as a schedule.
