Unless you make about $45k per year at 50, you're behind the pace you'll need to maintain your lifestyle and retire at 67. You should have 6x your salary saved by 50 - approximately.
That being said, you've got far more saved than the typical 50 year old.

Started adding to my 401k at 18.
25 now and at 55 I’ll have over 3 Million in a conservative market.

And they deserve to be blamed. I was in the new HEB by my house last week, and was talking to an older guy stocking, because he looked whipped. He said that he had to put in 80 hrs that week, because none of the kids they hired would show up to work. They either called in sick, wouldn't show up, or found some other excuse not to be there.

It's typical. Hiring, even at a good wage is a crap shoot. Kids today are nothing like they were 20 years ago.

Low wages are starting/training wages. Anyone with the aptitude and the ability to show up on time and be average at their job can move up.

Not to totally shite on people for working those jobs, but you get what you pay for with those wages. Luckily, there will be more kids lined up to fill those jobs for the three weeks they feel like working and then do the same thing.
