There are places you could live in Baton Rouge that are fairly close to LSU that are not ghetto and are reasonably priced.

In Baton Rouge Dunham School or Parkview Baptist. I would avoid Family Christian Academy. The Catholic Schools are good as well.

If I move to Baton Rouge where should I live? St Francisville and Denham Springs look promising to me but idk.

No kidding. Obviously the first thing we need to do is to get a picture of the wife. I think we can be much more helpful after that.

Your wife and child can live with me while you're in school. I have plenty of space in my suburban neighborhood.

You need to give serious thought to the commute issues… getting into lsu and out can be a pain… i Imagine you do not want to live in the student areas where the buses run.. if willing to go into an apartment look at the apartments next to the crescent ( crescent rentals are probably more than you want to pay.) . another hidden place are the small group of rentals on state street …corner of dalrymple. They have balconies looking out on lake crest…. There are some rentals that tend to be grad students and owner kids… behind Louie’s.. 20 units..

You may want to rethink buying and go rental.. look in the “dales” streets all end with dale ..cedardale… Southdowns….garden district … doubt you will find something to buy but possibly rental.. if buying it will be in very rough condition or on edge where gentrification may not have happened to any great degree yet….

You want to avoid the interstate and anything associated with the bridge during commute… highland road is a disaster when people coming in or leaving lsu for the day.

Have you looked at married student housing on lsu…I think they just redid a bunch and pretty nice … in with all the Nicholson redevelopment stuff I believe.. that would be my first choice…

You can find a decent house in the Burbank area. Parkview is down the road and Catholic schools within 20 minutes of drive time.
