I like it
Can we use images for profile pics from different sites?
Or only flickr and imgur?

I like the dark mode version due to the brightness of the regular mode hurts my eyes.

I don’t like it.
After I go black how do I go back?

When I am on mobile and I look at my posts I see only my net upvote:downvote.
Is this something y’all are tracking site wide?
Who has the highest net upvotes and who has the lowest net?
Eta what drives more clicks?

A few things:
The page numbers really do need to be added back next to the thread title. if you click on the thread, you're taken to the first post on the first page. If you click last reply, you're taken to the most recent post on the last page. If it's a 3+ page thread, we need to see the page numbers next to the thread as they were.
I know the goal here is to go for a cleaner look, but this is one instance where trying to create too pristine of a look sacrifices meaningful function.
Just add this back next to the thread titles:
But....remove "Page". We don't "Page" written out, we all know what the numbers mean. Just listing the page numbers next to the thread without "Page" written out still looks clean and maintains the convenience and functionality of being able to quickly jump to a specific page.
Next...the placeholder avatars for people who don't have an avatar look pretty bad. These need to be removed completely.
Current:
New version with placeholder avatars:
Also, if dark mode indicates a meaningful step towards new features finally being added to the site, I'm just going to suggest the following:
1. Allow us to natively embed Instagram and Twitter / X posts. IMO, in 2024, there's really no excuse for this not to be a feature. Nearly every single other message board or forum on the internet allows this, including forums that are much smaller than this site.
Every single board on this website would benefit from this. Tiger Rant, LSU Recruiting, OT, Political Talk, etc - every other thread on every single board is linking some tweet/X post or something on Instagram.
Currently, if we want to reference an X post for example, we either A) post a blind link to the tweet that opens up another tab and takes people away from this site, or B) screenshot the tweet, save it, upload it to a hosting site, then post the image link here. And even then, that doesn't always work, because people view this site from phones, laptops, and screens of various sizes - so a lot of the time, due to the resolution of the source capture, they can't even make out what is in the image.
Just allow us to natively embed X/Instagram in our posts. We're long overdue on being allowed to do this.
2. Spoiler tags for the Book and Movie board. Fairly simple feature that would provide a ton of benefit on those boards in particular. I've lost count of the amount of posts on those boards which have read SPOILERS BELOW to try and warn people. Just let us spoiler tag text.
3. Notifications for replies. if you make a thread, or a post in a thread, there's no way to be notified of who is responding to your posts. You have to keep track of all your posts and manually backtrack and hunt down the post to find any replies. Being able to just load up the site and see a "4" or "7" in the corner of the screen showing us new replies to our posts since we last logged in would be pretty convenient. This is another pretty standard feature across most message boards these days.
4. Polls. I know the code exists for this on the site because I've seen these polls on the front page of the website (just like X/instagram embeds on news posts). Just allow users to post polls. We already get constant threads with "upvote if you agree, downvote if you disagree". A poll would just be much simpler and cleaner. This allows people to get a better view on where the users here stand on certain issues in a clean, visual format that can't be ascertained by scrolling through a 20 page thread reading individual responses.
Furthermore, there are a lot of users on this site that don't create threads and don't post, so being able to vote in a poll allows them to have a more active role on the board.
Hopefuly Dark Mode isn't a standalone feature addition and is rather the start of a wave of much needed functionality on the site.

Went back to light mode when I went from SECrant to the OT board

Any chance of notifications for threads you're a part of?

I don’t know what it is, but I’m not a huge fan of it for some reason. I usually love dark modes but it just feels off on td for some reason. I’ll be keeping the lights on
