All these posts about kissing your wife's arse no matter what are depressing. Id rather not lose my identity and be controlled like that, thank you

Thank you. Women don't respect a pushover. This might be a test for the op.

The point is...marriage is no longer about just yourself. It's not about control or losing your identity. It's about compromising to something both of you can be happy with.

Sometimes that means biting your tongue and picking your battles and saving the arguments for the stuff that really matters.

Over about a month's time, move it around the house telling her you can't decide where it looks best. Progress to front porch and then to curb.

are you married by chance?

I don't think being a pushover is a good thing but my god its a plastic tree. Let her have her way, if its important to her. Its give and take, if all you do is take you are going to have a boring wife, or a lonely life.

You don't kiss her arse, but you better believe that the whole "i'm the man and shite is gonna go however I say it's gonna go" attitude will cause you a lot more pain and suffering than good it will ever do you. Times have changed and if your attitude doesn't you are going to jack off a hell of a lot more than those of us who choose our battles.

You will learn. It's all about compromise

You will also learn other things, like if she asks you to do something you really don't want to do........then just do a really bad job and she won't ask again.

Like decorating the Christmas tree. Put tacky stuff all close together in front center of the tree, she will tell you that you are messing it up, tell you to sit down, and then you can enjoy your apple cider and watch the ball game in peace.

I am. I let my wife decorate the house (tastefully). She lets me fish and hunt. She knows that I like things like antlers so they stay in the house. I know she likes fresh trout so I provide that.

When it comes to fake trees, I draw the line.

I want to know how much of a beta you have to be in order to buy someone else's used artificial tree at a garage sale.

I have chose to listen to this man. She gave in after a little arguing and said "fine sell it...I don't care!" Then I realized what you said, cracked open a beer, move the wine rack where she wanted it, put the tree where the wine rack was, and sat down while she cooked dinner.

you should teach a class, maybe we can teach all these betas wannabe alphas how you really are an alpha.

Dying one of her favorite blouses red "by accident" was by far my best mistake ever. I never have to do laundry.

Yea I've been keeping her updated but I need to let her study so she can go make the money and be the bread winner here. Teacher here so you know I'm poor. I gave up especially after the boat comment. Realized that I'm a teacher and have a shite ton of time off that I'd like to enjoy by fishing from a boat which she will likely make the money to pay for haha....That and I agreed to let her have the tree and I get good meals.

These things are learned after time, long arguments, and blue balls. Hell, I had the attitude of The Indulger and motorboat for about two and half years. Then I started figuring it out. I got some helpful advice from pops and started watching the things he did. Blew my mind when I started realizing the shite he was doing a bad job of on purpose
