I would have drove it straight to it but it happened late last night and they were closed. I'm gonna wake up Monday and hope it happens while driving

Had the issue on a 2010 with far less mileage. Throttle body sensor. Fixed under warranty for me and never a problem again. If it happens, you can only go like 40 mph. You have to shut off and wait a minute for the computer to reset.

Wait till the light comes on and drive to the auto parts store and have them read it. Throttle body or MAF come to mind, or a loose wire to them or another sensor, or a lose/corroded ground wire. Also could be something coming loose and causing a air or vacuum leek. Getting the code will help narrow it down, if you don't guessing could get expensive. Or you could wait till it gets worse and throws the code more consistently.

That's what happened to me. First time was on the interstate going 75 in between two 18 wheelers. Happened once or twice more that weekend while visiting the in laws. Took it in and never had the issue again. Was told they saw it a bit. Don't know the cost since it was under warranty though.

You either have a bad throttle body or the manifold that controls the AFM lifters is going bad. 5.3l right?

THe TPS is unserviceable on that truck. It's integral to the throttle body. Pretty sure GM has a recall out on them. Let me go look

You'll have to get in line with all the recalls GM has had.

MJ. You may want you check that. GM had so many problems with the throttle body sensor, they released the sensor as a separate part.

I just changed one out on my Yukon. And made sure to get a can of throttle body cleaner and clean it real good. Maybe $60 total.

It will idle at 2500 rpm and require a drive cycle before the engine relearns the new TPS and drops the idle back to a normal 600 rpms.

How about that. They didn't have this when I diagnosed a bad tps on a 2010 5.3 about a year and a half ago. LINK
