That's tough. Testing for internal issues gets very expensive. We had luck with Dr. Lin at Medvet in Mandeville who was able to diagnose a complex combination of problems/diseases that other experienced vets had totally botched.

Definitely very expensive to try and find out what was causing the issue. She had to take the dog out of town to an internist vet, who also tested for that in addition to a number of other things. No findings of any moment which would be the cause. They put the dog on a number of "in case" meds and for now, the steroid, in hopes that when he weans off, he'll continue to eat.
