I've got a problem.

I have a hallway that leads from kitchen to garage.

In that hallway there is a built-in desk with cabinets, a closet and doors to a bathroom and wash/mud room.

There is a terrible stench that appears with some degree of frequency that I can't quite identify.

Sometimes I think it's moldy, but not exactly. Sometimes I think it's death, like a dead animal in the wall. It does not smell in attack above and it only seems to exist in the mid morning. For example, at 5 pm it will not be there. At sunrise it will not be there. But between 8 and 12 it's there.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Good guess, but she's in another part of the house on permanent bed rest.

I will need pics of the hallway and area in question before I can make a determination.

This is usually code for a dead hooker. Dead hookers often stink.

I do, but wrote stink because it's folksy and people are drawn to bad grammar. It's basic psychology.

If you are morning showerers check pipes connected to hot water heater, sounds like the timing could have more to do with what is being used than with the time of day.

Also, check wax ring under toilet if you have a toilet that backs up to afforementioned stinky wall.

Which means her garden isn't getting watered well causing the stink in question.

Thanks. I will check that although most showering is at night or early morning.
