Friend,
Having been to six different Walmart locations in Montana, I consider myself an out of state expert in Montana Walmarts. You do not sound like you are. Yes, the Bozeman Super Walmart is a great one, but Bozeman is the state’s wealthiest city per capita and this Walmart caters to them. The Kalispell locale is above average.
But what of the Walmart in Butte or the north side of Missoula? They are certainly no better than the Walmart I visited in Natchez, MS, at the heart of the old cotton belt.
Yours,
TulaneLSU
P.S. notiger97, Walmart is greatly expanding curbside pickup. I noticed recently at two different Walmart locations that they more than quadrupled their curbside pickup parking spots. This all in the last two months. I have never done pickup because I too much enjoy the shopping experience, which like movies and church, should be an in-person, communal experience.
Due to the current controversy on HEB, Rouses, and Publix I plan on making several road trips to do a fair and thorough assessment of each grocer. I hope to have a conclusive opinion by the end of this month.

We had them in GA like 30 years ago.

It's the chick fil a of grocery stores. I find Publix to be well run, the staff to be courteous, the store is clean, oh and they actually have multiple lanes up with baggers (looking at you Kroger).
There are some shitty ones out there. They tend to be the older stores that were built in nice areas that went to shite over time.

Clean and convenient. Same as Target. I'll spend more to not be treated like the trash I probably am.

Try the Cubano. Simple but delicious.

I’ve only shopped there on vacay but don’t remember the prices being that much higher than my local grocery stores in BR or HEBs in TX

Do Walmart delivery for paper products and general things. Fresh food and produce go to Publix.

I tell ya.. there is a brand spanking new Kroger that just opened up by my house about a year ago and I absolutely love it
I was a Publix snob before but now I am a Kroger snob.
They are cheaper, they actually have a better Boar’s Head deli than publix - they stock the shut out of the place. It’s very clean - I just love it.
Having said that, I don’t think every Kroger is like that from what I have heard. At least with Publix, every store is clean and amazing

You pay to avoid certain clientele.
This worked, until door dash and shopt came about. Now I got those clientele driving 10+ miles to come do door dash for lazy neighbors.

Publix in my area currently has BOGO free chicken breast. Nobody else does that kind of thing. I'll pay a little extra to not walk around trash.
They don’t advertise it, but if you only get one item of the BOGO and not the second, you pay half price for the item.

In a world where service is an afterthought, they provide good service. I'm sure that's been stated already.

BTW I didn’t know this but you can buy just one bogo item and it’s half price. I always thought you had to buy two. I bought a pack of bun size ballpark franks and pack of kings Hawaiian buns for under 5 bucks. Made me feel like good ole days again.
