Help, Christmas Present for 16 Year Old Son

We are having trouble coming up with an gift ideas for our 16 year old son. He is into football and track and field (throws shotput and discus) and loves the outdoors. He loves to train and is very active. He suggested training ropes for shoulders but those seem expensive for what you get. Don't mind spending up to $400. Any ideas?
