Well I'm not around New Orleans for one
A lot of our worst storms are when we get hit from the back (so landfall around Tampa-ish) and then it dumps a ton of rain on us. Some areas around here haven't had Hurricane force winds since the 60's, so whenever we do some of these trees are going to get tore up.

That’s the boat I’m in too. Supposed to be in Navarre Wed-Sun. Not interested in sitting through a storm in a condo with two toddlers or the evacuation traffic.

All people are going spit out the same information. Some may have their super secret model that they dig up that they pay for and flash out at an opportune time, but they will all regurgitate the same data.
Nobody really goes out on a limb unless their gut tells them something like Nash or Bruce Katz.

There's too many men, too many people, in this thread making too many problems. And not much love to go round. It’s making this a thread of confusion!
it won't be tonight, tonight, tonight, but if this storm heads this way, we'll be in too deep to ignore it. I can't dance until I know it goes somewhere else. Another power outage will keep it dark on the bayou.

It must be some misunderstanding or some kind of mistake. I just hope you don't end up waiting in the rain for hours.

Well good luck to all. I really wish it wouldn't rain down, wherever you are.

I can feel it coming in the air tonight.

No shite? I didn’t know that. I retract my previous statement.
I tend to see people follow these random pages posting doomcasting content and freaking out. There was a guy that had a page back during Ida that was like “Louisiana Hurricane Center” that was some kid reposting content that people starting sharing around. I tend to stick with the established services or actual meteorologists.
And I don’t know what our resident experts here do, but they tend to be in the know or have some scientific knowledge. These threads are always helpful.

Would you chance a panhandle beach trip Monday - Friday or Saturday? That’s my main focus lol. To book or not book.
Even if it misses it’ll likely rain and the beaches will be double reds due to waves and undertow.
No fishing.
No boating.

Riiight? We have our own homes to protect too so I get it. I would rather be home during a Hurricane than a beach. It’s supposed to be a vacation anyways so it would be impossible to not think of it. I cancelled mine so that we would get a full refund before it’s too late. No hotels or condos will say whether something is coming or not because it’s so far out. Just use your own judgement.

Understood. I never made one … we seriously check weather, book, pack and go.

3. Northwestern Caribbean Sea and Southern Gulf of Mexico:
A broad area of low pressure could form by the early to middle
part of next week over the northwestern Caribbean Sea. Thereafter,
gradual development of this system is possible, and a tropical
depression could form as the system moves slowly to the north or
northwest over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and into the southern
Gulf of Mexico through the end of next week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent.

Exactly. The packed grocery stores, gas stations, and not being a local would be poo. It’s hard enough on any given summer or fall weekend so I cannot imagine the hell of a vacation that would be. I knew this would happen one year since I always plan in Sept or Oct when it’s cooler and kids are in school. But who knows? May just fizzle out and if that’s the case so be it. But I’m not sticking around to find out.
