The big spinny has a bunch of mini-spinnies inside it. As those mini-spinnies cycle they help drop the pressure of the big spinny. Big spinny interacts with land which helps create more mini-spinnies. The eyewall being fat makes it better at producing and maintaining mini-spinnies.

I hear ya. I guess the difference is the amount of marsh that buffers between ground zero for Francine vs. Florida. The Fl is coast is littered with towns and people. Slightly different in La.
