re: Heavy drinkers. How do you explain the appeal?

I quit 6 years ago because the taste was so good I couldn’t stop. Working next to a brewery was a bad idea. Side note to go along with the hipsters no alcohol bars, that’s stupid! Just because I can’t doesn’t mean I want to hang out with a bunch of sober people.

A night's rest after weed is amazing, wake up feeling super refreshed.
I haven't smoked it in well over a decade but it always had me feeling a little hazy in the morning for a bit. Not nearly as bad as a hangover though.

I like to drink, obviously my previous post was in jest. I was never sheltered from alcohol, even as a young fella. It never was a "forbidden fruit" and thus I rarely over-indulged.
I did go through a bad patch when I lost my Dad suddenly and my Mom moved in with us, having just then been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's.
Alcohol did get the better of me, as I was turning to as an escape. I realized that and backed off.
I know what you have been through and I can't imagine your pain. I was praying for you then and now as well.
I hope this board gives you some levity from time to time and in some way, lightens your burden.

Brother I'd be right there with you. Hope y'all are hanging in there.

Hurts too much the next day.

Those that partake heavily, what's the appeal?
How the hell else am I supposed to deal with this crippling depression?

I love cold beer, especially after or while doing something outside like mowing/swimming/fishing/golfing.
My problem is I'm the guy who wants to drink 20 if I drink 2 and then I do stupid stuff and wake up feeling like shite.
So I refrain as much as possible, but I'm not good at refraining either.

I get them now worse than I did when I was drinking a lot. I'm sure it's a tolerance thing. I used to could smash 12-15 beers and feel fine by 8 am.

That's a fact, right there.
Never late for work, not much of a headache, no stomach issues (unless beer, which I don't drink); keep rolling.

I enjoy a bourbon neat or two while hanging out or grilling. No need to get sloppy with it.

Drinking gives me sneezing attacks
But that doesn’t stop me

The problem with being sober is when you wake up that’s the best you’ll feel all day
Posted on 7/15/19 at 6:00 pm to Smalls
Well I dont feel "sick" and I think it's delicious...

What is white claw? I've seen that posted on here a few times. Is it an alcoholic flavored beverage like Zima?
Posted on 7/15/19 at 6:01 pm to Smalls
You probably should not drink.

White claw is a hard Seltzer, they can be sweet but they are low carb.
