Throw 4-6 girls into one voting group. Everyone gets 1 vote. The two girls with the highest votes at the end go on.
Do that for four groups. Then move the 8 girls on and make a bracket that way. I think a lot of how this got messed up was some of the favorites were paired very early instead of weakening the field some. Colleen and Hilda had some easier matchups.

So 4 groups of 6 women taking top two vote getters.
Then the four winners get ranked 1-4 based on number of first round votes and the four runner ups get ranked 5-8 on first round votes. Then 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5
