Several things.

1)look at the picture on the article. He’s 100% medically obese. Not even sure if a lot of baws on here would consider him that big. Obesity is a huge factor in the severity of this thing.

2)fricking CDC and our national response and testing. How many people did this spread to bc he was misdiagnosed and their son went to school and gave it to other kids who then went home and gave it to their parents?

Sad stuff.

This happens with Flu and obviously it doesn’t make the news. The issue is spread as pointed out in the article.

And I think the doctor is on point. COVID-19 has been here for a while and spreading in the community.

I bet if he tried to run 3 miles, he’d also be put on a vent. Dude is not “healthy”

Hope he gets better, but these clickbait articles are ridiculous

Ok. Tell us what we should do? What if I posted a story of someone who was diagnosed with it and who barely had a fever? What does it all mean?

People know it’s not healthy. It just excuses having no discipline and lazy behavior

Umm has it dawned on some of you nitwits that if Obesity is a factor, and half the population of the country is obese, what a disaster that could be?

Yeah, it’s clear that a specific proportion of people are getting hammered. I have a bacterial lung infection and I resisted taking antibiotics until yesterday because I wanted to fight it naturally . But at some point, medical treatment might be a good idea for us cavemen.

If this board is going to be saturated with tragic anecdotes that don't at all reflect what the overall data is saying, then I am done.

frick you people trying to scare us. You know damn well what the actual data (with a sample of thousands) says.

Unfortunately there's a small, but extremely vocal, segment of our population that believes that not only should obese people should be accepted and treated with respect (which I'm on board with) but also that obese people can be healthy and health and obesity are two separate things. Extremely short-sighted view.

Which disease came first? Pneumonia? Did he have a minor case of the flu first?

Having a weakened system makes one a prime target for the new virus.
