If they have a high fever, chills, aches, deep dry long lasting cough AND test negative for flu, a chest examination should then occur. If there are lower respiratory anomalies, the COVID 19 swab should then be administered.

I’m so glad I requested 10 days off for spring break. Hopefully things will have calmed down when I go back . I work with the most immune suppressed pts .

I am a travel nurse working in a detention center in Colorado. I have seen numerous cases of flu and colds. They just pass it to each other. Also scabies and athlete's foot. We have exactly 2 corona test kits. That's right: 2. Crazy. Not sure what the criteria is to use one though. But at least we have them. Lol

I work in healthcare, corporate IS side though, and we haven't seen much difference.
My wife is a provider, and only 1 of her patients has shown up today.

On the other side of healthcare, my son has an apt to get 3 pins removed from his finger tomorrow and then get the therapist (in the same building) to look at it. Apt is still on.
Husband is in PT for post sx acl/mcl repair -- they changed his appointment time today -- they're keeping (or attempting to keep) age groups separated.

Or, after testing negative for the flu and finding an abnormality in the lower respiratory system, you can do a swab for covid 19 and send it off to a lab.

We're a hospital based clinic and have had to make a bunch of changes today.
The chairs in our waiting room have to by 6 ft apart. No one other than the pt can come in the exam room, unless necessary. We also have been cancelling/rescheduling non emergent stuff. Everyone who comes in has to have their temps taken. Masks for everyone full time.
The next big thing will be if they shut down elective surgeries. That will throw a wrench in things.

Account Rep for a molecular Diagnostic lab will be testing for Covid 19 next Monday.
Been in Healthcare/ Equipment but to be somewhat on the front lines for this crisis is interesting especially since this is new space for me.

ONE piece of criteria SEEMS to be in you've traveled abroad. I'm guessing your people won't fit that.

In. Work in pharmacy basement. Hospital only allowing 1 visitor per room, everyone gets temp tested before you walk in, and they will only have 3 exits and entries. Meaning I have to fricking walk a half a mile to get to my car from employee parking

If the epidemiologist thinks they need to be tested they order the test
Then they test them
I know this because as soon as our kids spike a temp we take em in, it is always too soon to get the flu test. So they treat em as flu as a prophylactic,
Medical waste volumes are super high right now.

That one was easilt met. Well actually they traveled FROM abroad.
