What do you do about prescriptions? My understanding is that the health share plans don't cover scripts...

I think they have different levels... just like the ACA... the Gold covers some scripts. I could be wrong, so don't quote me on it.

Many of my subsidy clients are in and out of jobs throughout the year or working manual labor jobs here and there. They have no idea what there income will be. I'm self employed and I have no idea what my AGI is until taxes are filed. There is no fraud involved.

I guess I'm thinking of more unscrupulous agents who will purposely sign up with lower income with the specific intent of getting an increased subsidy... knowing full well they'll have to pay a portion, if not all of it back.

You can't tell me that doesn't happen.

Similar to insurance agents who will sell a business on lower workers comp insurance by underestimating their payroll, knowing full well that when it comes time for the workers comp audit, they'll owe much more premium.

So why are the enhanced covid subsidies for Obamacare along with wanting to force the removal of the recently added penalty on any state funding illegals using Medicaid worth the current govt shutdown by Dems? (Especially when the enhancements were unchanged and kept in the clean CR bill to keep govt open for 2 months that the Dems have been blocking in the Senate which caused this shutdown)

Does that mean one of the 2 reasons mention above is more important to Dems than the other?

You will need to ask the Dems.
I'm the most ultra conservative and opinionated person on the O-T forum.
If elected, my presidency would make Donald J Trump look like Rick Moranis.
With any legislation, especially of this magnitude, there's a lot of politics aka corruption that directs the results. None of it makes sense to me.
Money is a helluva a drug.
I can't change the situation. I wish I could
As they say "You can't stop the waves but you can learn to surf"
All I can do is work with what is available to help my clients make health insurance and the costs as efficient as possible.

I agree with you on that.
I don't agree with the subsidies and the ACA in general... but I didn't make the rules. I can't blame people for playing the game using the rules set before them. Don't like it? Get the rules changed. Until such time as the rules are changed, play be the rules.

No this doesn't happen.
When applying for a subsidy the applicant goes through "Identity Proofing" and "Income verification"
There is no advantage for an agent to engage in this behavior.
The risk is the number of so called "agents" or "Marketplace Consultants' that have absolutely no idea what they are doing, don't care, and steer applicants into highly managed care HMO's instead of real Health Ins Policies.
And why? because insurance companies like Blue Cross pay much higher commissions to agents if they sell HMO's instead of more comprehensive care and secure Health Insurance Policies

My company provides free health insurance for employees. Kind of bizarre. And free lunches.

Just got my notice that my plan for 2 adults and 2 dependents, $15K deductible is going up from $1291 to $1536/month in 2026. I’m headed to the Marketplace tomorrow to shop around and see if there’s a new plan.

Sharing Ministries make me nervous that they won’t cover cancer treatments or major surgery. I’ve done some light reading about them over the years, but it just seems very limiting. Am I wrong about that?

Yes, February will be 36 years.
I'm new here. Is there a way to private message on this forum?
If so, I'll send you my information.
I posted my cell here a few months back and "wow" that was a mistake.
There are some real weirdos on the O-T
