The dude was notorious for growing weed in the county. Every time he would start a new patch, Sheriff John Brown hunted it down, and then destroyed it

One day the sheriff caught him at his newest patch, and decided the best way to end this nuisance was just to end him. The only problem on this day, was a witnessed him drawing his gun on the unarmed gardener. He called out the sheriff for attempting to kill an unarmed man. So the sheriff had to kill the witness first!

However, in the course of their argument the weed patch guy drew his own weapon and shot and shot and shot the sheriff. In self-defense

Thusly, "I shot the sheriff, but I did not shot the deputy down"

All of a sudden I saw Sheriff John Brown aiming to shoot me down

It was an escape. He was arrested for the weed, then shot Sheriff Brown while he was on the run during an escape attempt.

Because he swears it was in self-defense.

Sheriff John Brown always hated him. For what, he doesn't know. Every time he tried to plant a seed, they would kill it before it would grow. Hence, you know, self defense.

There’s a saying that is well known in Jamaica. “The hearse follows the police car”.

In Jamaica, when you are wanted for questioning or there is a warrant out for you, they will try to inform you. If they cant find you they will then inform your family and known associates. After a certain period of time, if you dont turn yourself in, they come looking for you. When they find you they kill you. They will use a rifle at distance if they decide to or handgun at close range.

The one shooting is claimed to be self defense which he is claiming everyone understands. The second shooting, he is implying was done by the sheriff.
This gives the singer a defense from all prosecution.
Short version - "I was framed!"

Somebody tried to say Bob Marley was a “bad dude” on Twitter but I never heard any reasons as to why

My mom has a saying "I'd be John Brown" if anyone told her she was something she is not. Momma has a lot of weird sayings.

If someone was walking real slow "She's walking like she has lice falling off of her"

If someone says " I thought that was how something was done" she'd say "you thought like Andy, you though rat shite was candy"
