I am thinking about taking down my Christmas Decorations this afternoon...am I a heathen?

Yes. The Magi don't even get there to receive the Christ child and give him his gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh until tomorrow. Remember that it's a light that leads them to him so that he can get his birfday presents, so if you turn the lights off, how's he gonna get his?

Why do you hate baby Jesus?

I love Jesus.

But I’m not Catholic

So tree/lights comes down anytime after Christmas Day.

I don't know if this was the norm back then, but my dad said when he was a kid, they would go get a tree a few days before Christmas eve, put it up.. Then take it down the day after Christmas.

I took them down today and will finish taking them down tomorrow.

It's the first weekend after New Years. It's time.

Same here...as much as I hate to say so, it is time to put all of the fun stuff (holiday/football/hunting) behind me and get on with the year.

Epiphany is tomorrow unless you are Greek Orthodox then you have another week. If you have them up on Monday then you have to wait for the 40th day which is like the first week of February.

Are you Catholic Lite (Episcopalian) as they celebrate 12th night too. After that I think it varies by Christian sect.

Sounds interesting.

How does one get involved in Christian sects?
