I used to buy a single scratch off every pay period and I consistently lost. I won a few tickets, but never more than $5, and some of those on the $5 Saints tickets during football season.
I got to be where it's not even fun anymore and I'd rather bet that $5 on a baseball game anyway. At least I have a decision in that instead of complete luck, or lack thereof.

I hit four numbers and the powerball while I was in college. My other number was a16 and the winning number was the 18.
The difference between the 5 grand I won and the 58 million jackpot is the only reason I’m still alive today.

Recently my wife and I started buying 1 scratchoff each month. We've won $10 like 2 times, but that's it. Not great luck at all. But I dont care. It's a minimal amount of money and I love the monent of adrenaline between getting our hopes up of winning big money on a tickdt only to be let down every. single. time.

I typically only buy the $30 tickets because they have the best stated odds.....like 1 in 2.54 or something.
I think one thing that has also helped me to some degree is that I am somewhat friends with older lady that runs the counter. I always let her pick which $30 ticket I buy and she tries to keep somewhat of a memory of what rolls have not really paid out anything yet.

When I won the 100 in Powerball with 4 white numbers, the 5th was a 22 I believe, and I had a 21. One number away from a million. It's good that I didn't win that million then... would have been enough to choose a different path in life for my young self at the time. If I could win one million now, it would be great.

No, but I did find the "Imposter M&M's" once. About half of the candies in one bag were gray.
I won a six-month supply of M&M's, which was really 180 coupons for single pack M&M's, all of which would expire about 6 months after I received them. I saved a few of the coupons for posterity.
