Have you ever walked around in public drinking a tall boy out of a brown paper bag

Been seeing a lot of this in Las Vegas this past week. Is this a thing just in Las Vegas or do people do this everywhere? Never done it myself because I don't like beer but I am wondering what the reasoning is for it. Why not take it out of the bag.

You do it so you can drink in public without getting arrested. You don’t need to in Vegas though since I am pretty sure you are allowed to drink in public there.

In some places - It's a loophole in open container/public consumption. You can drink... just don't DISPLAY you are drinking alcohol.
I've done it accidentally out of habit from drinking from bottles. Don't want shards if you drop it.

Bud light 25oz cans are practical for me. The bag helps with insulation and grip on the cold wet can. Dumb arse OP.
Eta: true story my friend gave me a reusable insulated brown bag for my birthday. It's got foam lining and it's plastic but looks like a brown bag.
