I've hit a bottom a few times with different things but it could have worse. Didn't contemplate suicide though

Everyone either has or will one day. We keep going because that's life.

Yes. It usually take something extremely traumatic to wake you up.

Yes. I came to the conclusion that it couldn't be worse in the future than it was at present so I persevered. When you have no choice but to climb, you climb. I very nearly gave up, I often plummeted even farther down after thinking I'd bottomed out, but I clung to the belief that things would get better, and they did. Just as things were really getting better in a big way, I hit another snag, but I got creative, doubled-down, worked harder, and nothing was ever so bad again. My life is now better than ever and improving all the time.

I'm convinced that some people's "rock bottoms" are considerably shallower than others are. I've seen some people who's lives are just complete trainwrecks, yet they continue to plough on along, doing the same stupid shite and making their lives even worse. Their bottom is deeper than mine.

It is really hard to truly hit rock bottom if you live in America.

I can see that, it's relative..

it just bothers me that this thought actually crossed my mind.. and tbh i have no one to talk to so i figured why not ask a bunch of strangers..

Jeeze, bro. You need to get checked out for depression.

ETA: I suffered from depression so I kind of know how you feel. Bad thing about depression is that it makes you not want to do anything including bettering yourself.
