Have you ever purposely sabotaged yourself at your job?

Turned your phone off, didnt show up for mandatory meetings,...etc.

Not because you are lazy, not because you hate your job....just for no reason at all.

And then after a few days you realized you fricked up?

How did you make things right?

ETA: In this Hypothetical, no clients were affected negatively.

I worked 40 hours straight as a working supervisor try to get a train finished loading so the facility could get a bonus from the railroad. Tired of waiting on engine to move the cars, decided to let gravity help move the remaining 8 loaded cars, they hit the end of line pretty freaking hard and derailed one of them.
I was freaking exhausted and didn't care.

Kind of childish if you have a family or others depending upon you and your salary.

When I was in school I worked at Lowes. After a month or so in "outside lawn and garden", the two people opening "plumbing" and "inside lawn and garden" called in sick on a Saturday. I got stuck with all three departments, didn't know what the hell I was doing, and got no help from the manager and assistant manager on duty that morning. When I left for lunch that day, I simply never came back.

After a few hours I regretted the way I handled it, but I had no desire to make amends. I just updated my resume and moved on.

I was pretty damn late for my weekend job at the grocery store once. Should have been fired for it but wasn't.

I "dragged up" from a shitty job once. Didn't just shut down and keep working, gave immediate notice and left. (Shitty summer plant job in college, nothing to do with real career).

I used to go play golf on Friday afternoons when I had calls and just came up with something later if/when I get asked what happened.

I still miss calls I am available for, but now it's because I get invited to a shite ton of calls my seniors can handle or are pointless and I have other shite to do.

In this situation right now. I hate my plant job and it's just a summer job and I've been skipping work a little bit lately. I would not mind getting fired. Hate this job and it is certainly something I do not wanna do the rest of my life

There was never a need for sabotage. My natural incompetence has always been more than enough.
