Every ceiling in my house is painted blue and I have gargoyles around the entire perimeter. And obviously I keep sage burning at all times as someone else mentioned. I've had less than a dozen hauntings so I'd say it works

Yea it's almost certainly an old wives tale, but I agree it looks much nicer so my porch ceiling is painted light blue.
