I've come up with a few million dollar inventions on my own. Unfortunately, someone beat me to it every time

30+ years ago when I was like 6, my mom (no pics) was putting sunscreen on me at the beach? and grinding sand into my skin in the process. I said "they should make this spray on". Aerosol sunscreen was invented that day, but nobody listened then. My mom made me OT poor.

Do you need overseas manufacturers?

Overseas manufacturers will be able to produce for a lower cost. But beyond that I still need distribution capabilities. My best bet is to have it licensed by a company that already has production, distribution and marketing capabilities. Fingers crossed.

I've had an idea for a long time to incorporate electromagnetics into a weightlifting machine. Rather than slinging around heavy iron and multiple plates or bands, just a rod/core and a coil plugged into a controller. Dial in your resistance.

Could program various routines or variable resistance. Spotter's assist feature when working out alone (like voice activated).

Just saw a commercial for this machine from Bowflex, which uses adjustable magnetic resistance (and fan/air resistance), a programmable routine, and a "Coach" feature...

My wife has one every night at which time I will explain to her the difference between an idea that sounds good and the actual process of acquiring a patent for a working prototype.

Until you finish that process you have nothing!

I talked to this guy years ago.. No shite, he was someone I had to do some business with so I only ever talked to this guy maybe 6 or 7 times in my life but at the time he was supposedly in the process of getting an idea he came up with patented and supposedly had interest from GE.

This was 12-15 years ago. He told me he couldn't go into detail, but the idea basically made it easy to change ceiling fans by just switching them out. The only thing I could figure out was that maybe it was something, that would have to be universal on all fans that would have all the wiring in place so that anyone could just snap off the old one and replace the new one.

As for as me.. No.

I wanted to make an app for Smart Watches that would auto pause Netflix when it detected no movement, so you wouldn't lose your spot when you passed out during a binge watching session.

I came up with an additive used in polymer compounding that lowers torque and allows the molders faster cycle times and reduces burning. No patent, but I have NDA's with all my customers not to sample my competitors and it has been commercial for 2.5 years now. It has been a game changer for the industry and I have no complaints about the financial aspects.
