No. Once however, being given a tour of The Naval Academy by a Hispanic Marine Gunnery Sergeant billeted there, when commenting my knowledge that the cannons atop the broad stairs leading into Bancroft Hall were captured in the War with Mexico, he learned over and spoke softly into my ear, “ Yeah, but we’re going to get them back.”

Wife is 1/2 Asian and 1/2 Tejano.
She has some older Aunts and Uncles that are Tejano also US citizens, but live across the boarder in Mexico as it is cheaper to live there.
Yes, some of her family that have passed away were in some sort of Mafia.
You would not believe how things run across the border up to Dallas and into other parts of the US.

In the states, my interactions are overwhelmingly positive. It puzzles me hearing so many people say "Mexicans don't like blacks".
Being a black tourist in Tijuana was interesting though. No one was mean, but shop owners would shout stuff like "Yo dawg! Come to my shop! I got that bling bling!"

As a white kid who grew up with a Mexican dad and Mexican Grandparents, I can say I’ve never had a bad experience outside him beating my arse when I was bad and kicking my arse to do better.

And this isn’t true for natural born Americans on the system? So what’s the difference?
At the very worst, we break even on the taxes they pay vs the benefits they receive. On the flip side, 75% of all industries in the country wouldn’t be able to function without immigrant labor.

While in the Marines in 1969, I was on “liberty” in Tijuana and was robbed at knife point by two of the biggest Mexicans I’ve ever seen in my life. Wrong place, wrong time. True story.

Only thing that comes to mind was a pimp in Matamoros who wouldn't take no for an answer when he asked us if we wanted a date with his friend. He got pretty belligerent until the police showed up and ran him off. Other than that no more negative interaction with Hispanic folks than any other group.
Just thought of a second one...picking up some day labor at a Home Depot in Athens years ago and when I said I needed 4 a fifth one jumped in the truck and they all started fighting....the one that was usually there keeping things in order was not there that day and apparently the old boy took umbrage with the 4 jumping the que. The 4 I finally left with talked about it all damned day....planning to visit all manner of ill shite on that dude. They apparently changed their mind because he was there most days after that for months.

Yes. While in Mexico, one of our guys barfed in the cab (not me). The driver went nuts. Tipped him 50 bucks (American) but he still kept yelling at us. We could not understand a word he said. Told him we had some hot American girls that would meet him at the hacienda. He accepted that and we went back to our hotel. End of conflict.
