Have you ever gone to the doctor for cold/sinus symptoms?

I seldom ever go to the doctor and have never gone for a cold, but I am in a bad way right now. Headache, cough, green/yellow phlegm, can't breathe out my nose, and an off and on again throbbing in my ear. I've been told it might be a sinus infection by someone not qualified to make a diagnosis.

I am utterly miserable. I have bad allergies but this is definitely something else. Definitely not going to pay $75 for urgent care for this, but is it worthy of a doctor's visit or will OTC medication suffice? I can't imagine trying to sleep tonight with this again. I tried some Suphedrine decongestant last night as it was all I had other than allergy medicine and it was completely useless.

Mucinex DM and a lot of water. You'll start feeling better in a few days.

I'd go. Green phlegm generally isn't a good thing...

I have gone to an ENT if allergies got to me so bad that I couldn't function. Which that happens every few years when it is really bad.

As a person who get sinus infections all the time, I'd say go get some antibiotics.

And yet you feel the need to ask a message board for medical advice?

Do my symptoms sound like a sinus infection to you? I really have no idea what's a harmless cold and what warrants a doctor's visit.

I hate going to doctors too but either you will be fighting it for a week or just go to the dr get a shot and be done with it by tomorrow.

I mean, come on. You are maybe the most qualified and you can't give me some advice?

I went to the ENT Monday.

Of course it took me a week to get a damn appointment and the symptoms I had (identical to yours) had passed

Pretty certain it was a sinus infection but most of the time it will work itself out

I was even getting toothaches from the sinus pressure. I was using Tylenol sinus pressure and pain and they worked aight

I would go to urgent care.....that's what they are there for. Minor illnesses such as this.
