I gave my dad’s. The hardest part was finding out how to cram a long and fulfilling life into a few minutes and still feel like I covered all the bases.

Gave the eulogy at my fathers funeral. It was tough. Made it through.

My dad’s. It was not easy. But, I am glad I was able to give and be the last person to speak about him that day.

Did it for my son-in-law.

Very difficult, but glad I did it.

Good thing you didn’t. I was the Nebraska Eulogy State Champ 94’! Go Combines!

Would have won in ‘95 but this kid had his Grandpa die trying to save his dog and I couldn’t top that.

Did one for my mom and I didn't do very well, at all. My words were heartfelt and those who could actually follow along with what I was saying got emotional along with me. The others? I probably made them uncomfortable with me up there blubbering (frick em). I wrote it that morning and, before getting up to speak, hadn't really been very emotional about her passing. That shite all hit at once, in front of a lot of people.

My brother eulogized my Mom,Dad and Brother. He was awesome. So heartfelt and real. He battled drug addiction but kicked it, married and became the rock of our family.

At my mother-in-law's request, did it for my father-in-law.

I pretty much write for a living, and do a lot of public presentations and speaking, which is why I think she asked ME to do it.

As with any other assignment, I devoted some time to it, wrote it in advance, edited it, and gave the written draft to my mother-in-law to review beforehand, to make sure it was acceptable.

She loved it; said she could imagine "papaw" (what we all called my father-in-law) chuckling and smiling at the anecdotes and descriptions as she read it.

That meant a lot to me.

Spoke at my fathers funeral almost two years ago. I never thought I could have the strength to utter a single word without totally losing it. With that, I told myself no, along with other siblings and relatives who asked if I would be speaking at his service.
Well the night before his funeral I couldn’t sleep (for obvious reasons) and all I could think was how much this man meant to me, how much he sacrificed for his family, how proud I was of him. It was an honor to call him Dad, and I wanted everyone to know this. So That night I began writing thoughts of my father on paper, not a story, not a planned statement, just raw heart felt thoughts along with a few memories. During his funeral the Pastor asked if anyone wanted to stand up and say a few words so I stepped up and poured out my heart to my father, with everyone there as witness. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but it felt so good to honor him on that day. It was hard to get through it all, but something carried me through it. Whether it was a spirit, an angel or some other power, I’m not sure, but there is no way I did that alone, and God I’m glad I did.

I haven’t, that would be hard. Been a pallbearer twice (I am a female), which isn’t typical. A eulogy though...my uncle kinda broke down at his brother’s eulogy, but my dad and his brothers were so strong and never emotional, so it was touching and heartbreaking. But when my grandma touched her sons casket and broke down, it was horrible. She has always been the strong matriarch.

Never have. My uncle gave his parents' 11 months apart recently. He did well both times, but you could tell it was wearing on him the second time, was about half as long.
