Have you ever been swayed by an advertisement?

I'm talking about an advertising campaign. I don't think I ever have that I can recall. Of course, I've seen products were I think it's a good idea or whatever, but I don't think I've ever seen like an athlete or actor or whatever and bought something because they endorse it.

What made me think of this is I'm watching some NBA and they have patches this year on the jerseys, and I notice it which I guess what they want, but I'm not going to go out and buy good year tires because they have a shoulder patch on LeBron's jersey.

I got a cheap tablet from one of the deals standups they do on Fox and Friends.

worked out alright, got what I paid for, wasn't really mainline advertising though because I cannot remember the brand

So much of advertising, even if clever, leaves me not remembering who it was for.

Nah, but you're prone to use products you recognize.

The average NBA fan probably doesn't know shite about tires. When they go to get them replaced, it doesn't hurt recognizing Goodyear.

Everyone who watches NASCAR..

But seriously, I can't think of a time when seeing an advertisement made me change brands or anything.. But I have seen advertisements that made me think about something I like and ended up going get that product. There have been a few times when I have seen advertisement for a certain brand that reminded me I needed that certain item, but because I used another brand... I got that brand instead of the one on TV (like soap or something)

I was reading this thread from the last post first and I was guess this was an OweO post based on length alone.

No, I don't think a single ad or spokesperson has ever instantaneously convinced me to buy something that I would not have otherwise bought.

however, advertising campaigns are aimed at raising general awareness of a product or changing an existing perception....and that surely has influenced what everyone has bought before.
