Shot at -- ducked.

Lost control of plane while landing it -- regained control.

Slipped off mountain path, dangling over cliff holding on by fingers -- slowly and carefully climbed back up.

Got lost in high Rockies for a night without food or shelter or fire -- waited for morning, found my way out.

Choked on water in open water swim and just about drowned -- turned on back, cleared lungs, got control of the panic, made it to shore.

Hell yeah, baw. A bunch of times.

I lived, but you don't want to know all the grisly details, do you?

A guy tried to rob my wife and I in New orleans the first night I was concealed carrying.

I couldnt bring myself to shoot him so my wife drew my gun as I stepped forward. He had a knife, I had at least 100lbs and sobriety.

Dislocated his shoulder, broke a few bones in his hand, and broke his hip socket.

Nopd let me walk away. The kid is still in angola last I checked.

In retrospect, he could have killed me and my wife before I did anything. I was an overconfident idiot.

Several times off shore in the late 70's/early 80's. Too many to tell details.

Almost drowned in a crazy current when I was 10. Thankfully my dad swam out and knew how to handle rip tides

I was held hostage by a Rottweiler for a few hours when I was a child. I think it wanted to make me its wife.

Leaving Mandina's one night with my wife, this was before they had a parking lot, walked half a block off Canal, almost to my car and there they were, didn't see where they came from. They were jittery, gun waving, lot's of mo-fo's, we just gave them my wallet and wife's purse and they took off.

We went back to Mandina's, cops called, that was a waste of time. Nothing ever recovered.

Other then that, told in an ER one night that I likely had pancreatic cancer, I didn't.
