I've had my account get down to about $2800 while looking for a job and felt like I was broke

I almost was but then I found out about the Flying J and all of the lonely truckers that go there. Now that was a learning experience.

Both were due to layoffs. Character development is what I mean.

Broke is subjective but there were definitely some times when I had very little $$$$

I lived paycheck to paycheck during my intern year, but still had a savings for emergencies. Have never been “broke”.

No I’m not stupid. Most poor people are poor because they are fricking stupid.

One time I left my card at bogies and I had no cash and it was Sunday and I was hungry and my parents were outta town so I couldn't bum off them
I took this jug of change I had to Winn Dixie and coin starred it. There was $300 worth of change in there

Yes. When the first wife and I separated. Sucked. Never since then though!

I've had absolutely zero liquid cash and thousands in credit card debt before, which was pretty nerve-wracking.
But I was net positive if you count my assets like my home and vehicles, as well as my 401k, Roth IRA, and stock holdings (and crypto).
When we were first married I over-extended on honeymoon (which I actually don't regret, it as awesome) when I was just starting my career and then we bought a house shortly after. I had zero cash because I was putting it all on the credit card debts until it was in that 15% usage range and then started saving again.

Once. It was very motivational.

No, but I did briefly drop to only two commas once.
The horror.

In college, I had a massive coin bucket. I bet there was $600 in there, going by past experience with the same full bucket. It was stolen during a party. Thing had to weigh 100 lbs.
I will never forget that. That motherfricker.
