When I first got married. I was a poor LCpl in the Marines, wife was a college student still. Those were definitely lean times until I was promoted and she graduated.

After my divorce about 13 years ago. I had to pay her 70K+change for 1/2 equity in our house. I was 33 and that took any savings I had to less than 1K (still had my 401 intact). My house payment was 2K per month and along with other bills I cleared about $300 per month. In order to have some drinking money I actually started cutting grass of a few of my neighbors to earn another $250 a month. Other side jobs on the weekends here and there. It took almost a year before I saved enough to replace all the household stuff she also took (furniture, dishes, silverware, TV's, etc..)
I know the broke experience and I put my pride aside and fricking worked to get ahead again.

Good for you man. Those divorce laws are fricked up and I hope you get back to where you were. shite like this is why us young guys are getting scared off of marriage.

I’m broke now. Laid off. I’m trying to find something.

Damn dude. Didn’t you have something pretty big lined up? I remember you talking about moving out of the country or something.

Appreciate it. I'm good to go, I'm heavily invested in BawCoin at treefiddy.

I have twice. Best learning experience ever.
Coming out of my divorce I wasn't bankrupt but I was certainly barely making ends meet.
It taught me to live financially lean and more importantly it taught me the value of choosing the right spouse
