Chris Rock once said, “men are basically as faithful as their options”. Your post made me think of it.

I have a wife that is very attractive, she’s not crazy, I enjoy spending time with her, and we have a lot of similar tastes. She’s not perfect, she can stubborn as hell sometimes and she has an affinity for Kesha, but overall she’s great and I love her more than anyone or anything else. I’ve dated some horrible girls/women in my life and I know how fricking insane they can be at times. I also don’t know if I could live with myself if I hurt her like that; I’ve been cheated on before and I know how bad it can frick someone up. So, no, I’ve never cheated on her and I never plan to.

Are we the same person?

I think a good argument can be made that porn has saved just as many if not more marriages than it has allegedly destroyed. Anytime you feel like strange, it is a way to get the poison out and be over it without blowing up your life. Wanting strange is a natural instinct, it isn't created by porn. Any man who blames porn is dishonest and any woman who gets angry about s/o watching porn is an idiot.

Porn is addictive. It can absolutely destroy.. Moderation and communication is the key.

I suspect most of the people claiming they would never cheat have never been put in that situation. Truth of the matter is that if an attractive member of the opposite sex shows interest most men/women at least entertain the idea. Many of you may want to look in the mirror before being so judgmental and calling others pieces of shite. In other words, don't act so holier than thou if nobody other than spouse finds you attractive.

I was coming here to post this I can't speak for everyone in here, but it's not like everyone in here has women beating down their doors to have sex

Turning down an OT 8 that is hitting on you at the bar is impressive. Not cheating just because you either never go to parties/bars or you're old, balding with a beer belly is not impressive. It's like being proud of never getting a speeding ticket, but in reality it's because you don't have a car. Let's not confuse willpower/morality with lack of opportunity. It's easy to say I'm going to sit in the corner over here and just watch the band...it's a totally different story if a pretty girl comes out of nowhere and sits next to you and starts whispering sweet nothings in your ear.

90% of not cheating is just not putting yourself in that situation.

This can be said about virtually anything.

Does it count if you're waiting on your divorce to finalize, but you already have a girlfriend?

Why tell them if you do? Just break it off. Confessing to it isn't for her...it's so you can ease your own conscience at the expense of somebody else.

I cheated on one girlfriend once. I felt so guilty that I broke up with her soon afterwards.

Same. Was at LSU at the time. Cheated on spring break with a girl who was much cooler than my current gf and broke up with her that week(we should’ve broken up long before that).

The idea of cheating on my spouse actually makes me nauseous. She’s the best woman I’ve ever met. I don’t care if it was the hottest woman on earth, to let her and my three kids down would be gut wrenching. With that being said, I know plenty of people in rocky marriages who have cheated and are for the most part good people. I’m not going fake some righteous indignation about their acts. It happens...especially in the work environment where you’re often spending more time with other members of the opposite sex than your spouse.
