In that scenario I would:
try my best to inflict as much damage as possible with first punch - be it on the jaw, temple, nose, or my personal favorite the orbital bone. After that if not satisfied (varies by situation) if they were on ground I'd pick them up and either power bomb them or belly to back suplex targeting them landing on their head (to inflict more damage) then I would assess what to do next (keep going or stop).

The reason women have been permitted to assault men, generally, is that there hasn’t been a threat of retaliation from the man.

Brother I've been in more fights than I can remember and not one time was I ever arrested. Yes, fighting is trashy but when I was younger instead of pulling guns people actually fought. Maybe kids these days should try it instead of just shooting people and acting like entitled brats?

You going to jail one day man. Self defense is okay, teaching a lesson or trying to inflict as much damage as possible maybe not so much.

45 never been in jail. Haven't been in a fight since 2005ish. Either way if someone punches me I don't care who it is I am going to try to obliterate them to the best of my abilities. Why do you think certain groups of people have free reign to assault people with no repercussions?

We as men sort of had a mutual understanding with women for many years that in public that they wouldn't try go out of their way to instigate a fight with a man, and a man would give a woman more leeway publicly than a man doing the same thing would get because even an average man could absolutely wreck an average woman easily. The incentive structure on both sides meant that made sense... man doesn't go to jail, woman doesn't go to the hospital.
These days women either just don't believe biology or just want to test men and push their buttons. That will probably work most of the time since men don't want to go to jail (which they absolutely will, at least for a bit, almost regardless of context), but when it doesn't....

Women act less lady like and are far more aggressive in general. Way less taboo than it used to be by their own doing.

I used to think like this and then I grew up and learned to think for myself.
A woman hits you, hit her back with force. Youre doing every man she will ever come in contact with again a massive favor.

First, I'm a woman. Second, if a woman slaps you and you break her jaw and then keep wailing on her until someone pulls you off, I sincerely hope you are arrested. Men are infinitely stronger than we are. No need to go full on pit bull.
If I ever tried to punch my husband, I doubt it would even slightly hurt. He would probably just laugh at me. If he punched me, he would 100% break my face.
