I think the one in Baton Rouge is in the typical blue bayou mall of Louisiana style decline where the clientele gets scary

They really tried to avoid this by making it something that doesn’t appeal to the wrong crowd but it didn’t work. Maybe they should rebrand as Top Swim or Top Fill Out Job Application

That’s what shite costs these days dude. It’s over $100 to take your family to Outback.

Top Golf is not expensive relative to the market. That’s not debatable

If you go with 4 people for 2 hours, which is more than enough time, it’s like $30/person plus whatever food and drinks you buy. What are you doing for less than that?

Well the shitty food and drinks are 2x more expensive than they should be and with my group, we go through quite a bit of drinks

$200 outing.

Then take your kids to the park or an aquarium or something. What other fun activities are you taking your entire family to that doesn't cost $200? Sporting events?

It's almost as if that's part of their business model... If you add in qualifiers of "if it weren't for this and that" a lot of places wouldn't exist.

100%

But those will continue to use them. They do need to do better specials. Like half off booze on weekdays or something.

That being said, if the contraction happens as some people here predict, I wonder what the hell they will do with the sites?

Sell them. Most are in fairly desirable areas. Top Golf is as much a real estate company as it is an entertainment company

It's just ridiculously overpriced for what it is.

You have to do that to keep out the crowd that will ruin it

Oh I never thought about that.

We’re never their target market.

Top Golf is an entertainment venue - akin to going to the movies or racing go carts. It’s not a golf experience.

Are they though? Beers are are like $5-7, pretty standard these days. Maybe their specialty cocktails are a little, but they are still only like $12-$14, thats fairly standard. I'd agree they aren't the greatest cocktails in the world, but I wouldn't be expecting to go anywhere and get cocktails for $6-7$.

They aren't bad. I'm a 15 handicap and can play all the games there.

The food is actually pretty decent- it's comparable bar food: nachos, wings, burgers, etc. No, it's not gourmet but it's passable fare when you consider you're going for the golf and bonding time with your friends.

I think this one is $40/hr now, at lest at the Birmingham one last time I was there, but deal is the same.

$20-$30/person for 2 hours. The same price as going to your local shitty Mexican joint for dinner

It's ~$120 for 2 hours...which = $30 per person. But unlike your "local shitty Mexican joint for dinner" That $30 is in ADDITION to any food and drinks you may order. Let's say you get an entree, split and appetizer, then have 2-3 drinks. At that point you are probably in another $40 or so. The total price obviously increases with the less people you have to split the bay. I could see how some people may feel $70 to eat at a driving range may not be all that enticing

It's even more of a cost burden if you take you family because your wife and kids aren't "splitting" the cost of golf. Yet, they are still eating. One hour of (weekend) golf ($60) + $75 or so for food/drinks for the family + tax/tip = $150+ bar food dinner. For many middle-class people that is a pretty expensive dinner outing.

I've never been to one. Do they have a guy on a tractor collecting balls you can use a target?
