That is false. There is no penetration of any type of paint. All paint would be absorbed into the fabric, ALL paints. The image can be scarped off. Carbon 14 is junk science.

I have no clue on how it was created. Last night there was a show on the history channel on the Shroud. They say the image in is ON the cloth not in it as paint or dye would be. Speculation ultra high intensity light.

There is not pollen and DNA that is 2000 years old from all over the world on it.
I would love you to link to a scientific review of the replicated image. Having seen a replica of the shroud (Notre Dame Center Jerusalem) I find a replica hard to believe.

You can roll your eyes, but the scientific explanation (if the Shroud is authentic) is as follows (and bare and mind this is a hypothesis formed by physicist and chemists):
