Those are all bots. Don’t be fooled. 80% of twitter posts are made by bot farms and most are from the communist Chinese trying to influence public opinion so we think it’s a groundswell of support. If the bots on Twitter are against it, then you know it’s right for the USA.

Deport his arse. He’s always a late investor anyway and swoops in to take credit.

If I'm remembering correctly, he doesn't want H1B to go away entirely, just have a lot more barriers to entry. Nobody should want H1B to completely go away, just used for what it was supposed to be used for, elite level employees with very little to no US replacement. High end coders vs help desk.

Elon is pro H1B visas, he wanted to double them and make cheap labor more accessible for college educated skilled positions. I wonder why his platform is overrun with comments in opposition to limiting labor imports.

In our industry the problem is unqualified imported labor, people are basically buying their certification and training in their home country and coming here unqualified, however they are able to get the right license so they get employed anyway.

People from India are not the best, not even remotely true. Coming from someone working in the industry they are all awful at their job and have terrible work ethic. They are the problem with tech right now, hiring more Americans will be a huge positive in multiple ways.

Exactly. Twitter is the 1% of the 1% really really crazy nut jobs. The other 99.99% are fake accounts run by software that just sew discord.

I disagree. There's no reason to hire helpdesk people in the US, except for small companies. The thousands of tech support people for Dell, HP, IBM, etc., are generally offshore already, and they don't bother hauling H1Bs over. Every H1B I've met here has a BS in a computer related discipline, they wouldn't be on the helpdesk anyway.

Where I have directly seen, and experienced the impact, is things like "ServiceNow Integration Engineer," "GRC Consultant/Senior Consultant," etc. Those are being hammered by H1Bs that get paid 1/4 of what the US Citizen equivalent is, and because it's indentured servitude (you can't quit a job without finding other sponsorship), they'll work 12 hours a day six days a week if asked.
