I've gotten out of many tickets I deserved. My dad knew a lot of highway patrolmen and sheriff's deputies. They came to his shop a lot for work and he never charged them a dime. That got me out of a lot of stuff. Whenever I went through the city or was in a different area, I got harassed pretty heavily, though, so I guess that made up for some of what I got away with.

Yes. Last summer, rolled through a stop sign downtown, told the cop I had to beat the tourists walking across the street, he kind of agreed.

Was driving intoxicated once.. ended in the ditch three times.. stalled out on road pointed wrong direction … finally got car on road and pointed in correct direction.. drove a few feet … lights came on.. I pulled over.. cop asked where I was headed .. I said home.. ( i was in high school).. he looked at me and said if you can make it home without going into the ditch again we are good.. I drove about 15 miles a hour and made it home with the officer following me.. pulled into my parents driveway.. got out .. looked down at the cop car.. waved.. he rolled down his window and waved back.. and left ….
I have a few more but think I will end there .. yes they all involved alcohol.. fwiw I gave up alcohol.

Just once. Had a tail light out. Headed back to school after a weekend at my parents. Told to drive safely and get my light fixed.
Otherwise, every one I’ve gotten has been well deserved. Forgot to pay one in college. My dad paid it when they got the bench warrant notice. I had no idea it was still outstanding. Thanks dad!!

What do we say?” and she says “thank you”
Why TF would you thank a cop who just gave you a ticket? It’s so misplaced. They didn’t do something nice for you. If you want to be considerate, you could just say “have a nice day, or be safe”. But I would never thank them.

Stopped at a closed convenience store so my girlfriend could throw up. We had just left a bar and a Highway Patrol officer was sitting in a dark area and observed it.
I didn't see him and when she finished we contiuned our drive home and he pulled us over a couple miles down the road. I hadn't realized she had taken her shirt off and was sitting there in shorts and a bra until he walked up with his flashlight shining it in the car.
Said I was weaving a little I told him the road was dipped in places on the right side pulling on my Corvette causing me to swerve a little and that my gf was sick and I was taking her home.
Glad he didn't breathalyze me. Guess I looked sober enough so he said get her home.
