I mean that's really not a fact. European landscape and history is pretty awesome, generally speaking.

Ive lived in Europe.

If your whole life is defined by seeing the Eiffle Tower or the Louve I feel bad for you. I think half of the reason people feel so strongly about going to see this "history" is the fact that they havent seen it before but on tv.

Trust me, its not much different than the smell. I prefer not be around or spend my money with disgusting liberal people.

They will never see a penny from me or mine the rest of my existence that is for sure.

You are living in history right now. The greatest country ever assembled under the greatest military ever assembled. You should just go see all of our landmarks as they matter.

I’ve never really considered it but the family is going to Europe this Spring and my daughter is insisting we just tell everyone we’re from Canada… she thinks it’ll get us treated better for some reason? I’ve been out of the country several times but have never really thought of this.

No, but I have spoken some Spanish or German when scammers come up to me and ask if I'm American and act like I have no clue what they're saying in English. Seems to work.

Will be curious how Americans are received these days in Europe. Typically, over the last few years, they'll ask about American Politics, Trump, Biden etc. and ask "what's going on". If you're smart, you learn the politics of the country you're in and turn it around on them and say "it's a trying time. I see that Macron.." or similar. Usually shuts them up. They're typically just curious about America.

Your daughter is brainwashed.

This is about Trump.

Oh look, I was right.

You daughter wants to say she's Canadian because she thinks she won't be able to murder your grandchildren. You should get on top of this.

Isn't that a kicker?

you work hard to raise your children in a safe, stable environment. Provide them with the educational and financial opportunities to be able to go to college and then send them off to become Marxist shitlibs.

eta. One time, a client told me, "There's no bigger fool than me. I paid Vanderbilt University $200,000 to turn my two beautiful daughters into communists"

I have a University of British Columbia T-shirt from the 80s that I wear on rare occasions, even though I never attended UBC.

My brother spoke French and when he went to France people would ask him if he was from England or America. He told me he would answer America and they would become belligerent. He started saying he was British and all was well.

Get your nuts outta the jar where whomever put them. Like others have said pay with money, he’ll be nice to people and polite, ask questions, try learning a bit of the language if not the same as yours and you will go far. Never had a problem

I have always said I am from America and followed it up with Louisiana. Its amazing how many people have a positive idea about South Louisiana, have been, or know someone from here.

The whole claiming to be Candian thing has been around for decades this isn't a new thing.

Y'all ain't gonna be able to hide it. Your shoes will be a dead giveaway even if you buy new ones as soon as you arrive...y'all will select shoes that only an American would wear because they are fricking smart choices.

There are 2 things I know about foreign travel. First is that it will dispel any idea that one has that the United States is perfect. It is not. It is big and dirty and unkempt and beautiful and amazing.

The second thing I know is, if you are an American, and you do even a modicum of foreign travel outside of North America, you will pretty quickly discover that warts and all there is not nation on the planet better than the US. It ain't close and it ain't anyone's fault....it just is what it is. Someone has to be the best and that someone is the US. Our being the best by such a wide margin is pretty remarkable. Being the best does not infer we are perfect...we ain't, we ain't close...but we are the best there has ever been and likely to ever be.

One other thing I know after having lived abroad for years. Folks LOVE Americans. We are fascinating to other people. This is especially true if you ain't an a-hole. We are loud and intrusive and extroverted and eventually most people come to admire us for it. The confidence Americans display abroad is awesome.

I would never do something like this because I am actually proud to be American and am very comfortable in my own skin. Anyone who hates on that can kiss my arse.
