Blocked in at my house. Road is closed with both bridges underwater.

Creek at my house is like I've never seen it before. No telling how many cows I've lost

Boats aren't as plentiful in Houston as they are in Baton Rouge/NOLA

Nice of you to pay your employees.

quote:

Also they weren't forcing you to buy a higher grade, when we get a load of 20,000 gallons, you get X amount of each, when you run out of regular on a normal basis they refill you automatically when you hit 1000 gallons in reserve, this week though they didn't replenish any stores, so your choice is fill up midgrade or premium, or get no gas.

They had duct tape over the lower grades, they were trying and people were. I watched 4 people stare dumbfounded and hit the higher octanes buttons. I hit the 87. And it worked, I went and bitched to the guy inside and he gave me some run around that the levels were too low, frick that, I know when a pump is about to run dry for fuel. It filled up with the same quickness as it normally would have.

Maybe true that landmark wasn't delivering, but I saw Suncoast, Reladyne and Sundance bouncing around all week, up to Friday night.

Apparantly a charity hospital in Houston is being evacuated according to stormcastforums. Triage underway.

LOL, that is exactly what they tried to do ! They taped over the 87 grade gas, as if it was empty and tried to get you to buy the 93 grade, BUT the 87 grade was NOT EMPTY. Stop with all your bs.

Who is the grey haired white guy between Blanco and Vitter in this Katrina photo? He appeared often at press conferences during this time.

The caption incorrectly labels him as Don Powell.

I was thinking about that. In New Orleans East you could laucnh a boat and generally go through out that area without getting into water that was too shallow.

In Houston there are more spotty areas and not large areas of contiguous water so you would have to have a trucks and trailers staged. Won't work.

Damn, that nursing home picture is actually real. Those folks were abnormally calm. A lady was knitting. Damn.
