I dont suggest people drive too much but here is a facebook page for the restaurants around houston to post their hours this weekend
If I were the emergency response officials of the city, I'd be fricking pissed. Houston is notorious for dumbasses driving in high water already...

Don't think so. It is pretty close to the 11:33z drop position.

Do they have a Sharpie? The only reason I ask is because when they write their SSNs on their chests so the bodies can be identified if they're ever found, they're going to want to make sure they use a good permanent and non-water based ink.

***Next 48 hour total accumulated rainfall according to 12z GFS***
These things are tough to pin down, but big time totals are highly likely in these areas.

93 kt surface winds in NE eye wall.
More concerning is the 116kt average winds in the last 150m. If those make their way to the surface, you're looking at ~135mph winds.

From my 22nd floor window in the med center, the rain has stopped, but the cloud formations are moving fast!

Dude, you need to talk some sense into them..this is not a joke and it's not a party.
What logical fricking reason do they have for trying to ride this storm out.
They are calling for a 12'-15' storm surge. They will be out of water, electricity, food, gas, ice, they will be hot as frick...etc...nothing will be open, roads will be closed and/or washed away. they will be trapped...
they need to get the frick out....tell them to go have their little hurricane party in a high rise hotel in Houston if they want to experience a hurricane.
