This is prompted by the guy whose new baby does not sleep through the night.

some delights to anticipate.

Daughter is 5 years old. I have given her some combo of demand, expectation and seek feedback that she concurs or at least submits to the proposal.
She says nothing, and this is one glib child.
I say SPEAK.
She says nothing.
I say SPEAK, loud.
She says nothing.
I say SPEAK even louder.
She says WOOF.

If there is such a thing as loving your kids too much--I do. Every day just gets better and better. (Ages 7 and 4)

Serious question from a non-parent - what is the accepted point at which you stop counting their age in months. Somewhere around 16 months or so?

When they stop making clothes for the months. 24 will be the last month I pay attention to, but we'll likely stop caring too much after she turns 1.

My daughter is 3 and 1/2.

She likes to get up and dance to kids music. While her version of dancing is not so much dancing but flailing around, I love doing it with her because 10 years from now she'll hate my guts

I love spending as much time as I can with my kids. Pretty soon they'll be grown and have their own lives to live.

Fat frick

JK, all the boys in our family are like that. My daughter is 7 months and can still wear some of her 3 month stuff. She usually has to move up sizes because of height, not weight. There are worse problems I suppose.

Watching my 3 year old give my one year old a hug and kiss goodnight, or listening to them cut up in the back seat on the way home from daycare. Really every second I'm with them when they aren't flipping out over something is pretty excellent.

Pride our sons are just alike. Does yours have stomach trouble too? I believe sleep and stomach work hand in hand at least in my case

Nah, his stomach is fine. He just refuses to sleep at night for more than 3 hours at a time. He is great during the day though so I cant complain too much

Yep. 26.1 lbs at his 1 year checkup. But in his defense, he was tall too at 31.5 inches

But there is no way this holds up. I am only 6'0" 170 lbs, and my wife lies to say she is 5'1" She is Nicaraguan and they are the tiniest family I have ever seen

My son is 15 months (for the sake of this thread). If someone asks I tell them "he turned one in February." Come sometime later this year I'll switch to, "he turns two in February."

That's the way to do it. I started it like that because I got tired of trying to do the math in my head.
