Happy Boss's Day

Yep, one of the dumbest "holidays" ever is here again.
I understand throwing the secretary/administrative professional a free lunch or flowers once a year. They often put up with a lot of crap for not a ton of money.
But ever day is boss's day. They should not need a pat on the head from their underlings to validate them.
This ridiculous day started in 1958 when arse kissing Patricia Bays Haroski--who probably had stock in Hallmark--registered National Boss’s Days as a holiday with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in honor of her father, who was also her employer. By 1979, Hallmark jumped on it hard and started offering National Boss's Day cards for sale.
Anyway, our boss loved the tie we got him.

In that case, 100 percent of us should be getting gifts today no?

I make it very clear to my underlings that the value of their time working for me is worth way more than any cheap trinket they could buy in that time and anyone caught using company time to, in effect, make me less money will be summarily fired.
I have also notified them that their pedestrian tastes reach nowhere near the refinement that I possess. After all, I own and enjoy things like Faberge eggs, fine aged wines, and ascots. I've made it clear that anything they could possibly afford to purchase for me (even if they pool their meager paychecks) will surely be given to the housekeepers, as they'd be the sort of people to get excited over such cheap baubles.

I just let other people in my group handle this kind of stuff and just sign the card when it comes around.

Don't get it at all.
My secretary just brought me a bottle of bourbon and a card. It's nice, but unnecessary.
