She could get it. I'd make her read me the paper while I'm at it, though.

She's gorgeous. When Natalie Shephard was hired, I was always hoping that at the end of the 6pm broadcast, when they looked at each other that they fall into each other's arms in a passionate embrace. Never happened and probably won't. But I'm ready when they are.

I grew up watching her and hoped she'd eventually have a nip slip on live tv.

I was very good friends with her sister in high school when Karen was just starting her news career. At the time, she was basically doing some type of middle of the night news updates when no one was watching. I'd be hanging out their house in the afternoons, and Karen would be just getting up to get ready to go work a night shift at the station. She was hot back then too. CSB.

To further cement my ineligibility for OT baw...no, no I did not. A rare occasion where we were just friends. Actually talked to her sister, who's also beautiful, the day before yesterday.

Yeah, I think so. That's where Karen worked in between her stints in New Orleans. Their dad was a somebody in the FBI/ATF, and was transferred down here for a few years. The time when we hung out most was the same year as the David Koresh/Branch Davidians thing was going on in Waco. Their dad would periodically be on tv at the time. Felt like I knew somebody famous. CSB.

I knew she was working in Boston and I seem to remember that part of her reasoning for going there was to be near her family.
She had a relatively young daughter and her husband was NOPD when Katrina struck. I don't know where they lived or if they flooded, but it was a tumultuous time around here. (Her husband didn't steal a Cadillac and drive to Texas.) WWL was broadcasting from BR - two anchors at a plain desk talking to the camera for hours on end.
The storm hit on a Monday. By Thursday or Friday, she melted down on the air when her and Dennis Woltering were reporting a story about a cop being shot or maybe the Danzinger shooting. She starts crying and can't stop. WWL takes them off the air, but there's no commercial to go to. They come back on pretty quickly, no more than a minute or two later, and Woltering explains that her husband is a cop and she hadn't heard from him in like 48 hours. She starts trying to apologize for losing her composure and looked like she was about to start crying again. I'm telling you, it was heartbreaking to watch. I almost started crying. But she stayed on the air and finished her shift.
Anyway, a couple of years later and all the bullshite that followed Katrina was enough for her. I think she felt like raising her child in the middle of all the dysfunctionality of N.O. was a bad idea. So she left, and who can blame her.

Always hoped she would move to Fox and co-anchor with Kim Holden.
