You would certainly know my mother and probably my uncle. He passed away in a hunting accident about 15 yrs ago. They lived in Lakeshore during the same time that you said you lived there.

Don’t recall if it’s been mentioned in this thread and don’t want to read through again but when out that way if we didn’t eat lunch at Ray’s it was always Danken Trail.

I don't think it has, but that was another classic.

WAAAY back in the day, there was a classic "fancy" Chinese place right where McDonald's is in Lakeshore now. Maybe called the Mai Kai? Something like that. I went to Lakeshore with the owner's daughter and used to hang out and play around the restaurant. Such a cool place and he was so nice.

any of you Jack Hayes baws wanna swap stories about KK Deveny?

she was the wildest thing i ever knew. every time i got in a car with her driving we ended up in an accident. NO EXAGGERATION.

one time we rolled her bald-arse tire volvo flying around a curve and ended upside down in a ditch. she just looked over at me from her seat (UPSIDE DOWN MIND YOU) and GIGGLED and said "you ok"?

NO! NO I'M NOT frickING OK!

eta it was awkward because her dad was my orthodonics dentist. i remember when he came to get us and she told him "its not that bad, dad." he just glared at me like i caused it.

i survived 3 years of high school at OPHS on 3/$1 minced meat sandwiches from peegees.

Early in my life I would be sent on minced meat runs. I went down 80th street like a bat out of hell, I was scared to death on that street. They were 4 for a buck at some point. THen they skyrocketed. But when they raised the price on the minced meat, they atarted with the hamburger special of burger and fries for like 2.50.

I never loved the roast beef like others, so my go to when we got the special go ahead to get a poboy was ham and cheese.

shut your mouth. I tell my kids mince meat sandwich stories at least once a year. They were perfect. My mom didnt like us eating more than a couple, so I would buy an extra with my own money and eat it on the way home. Trying to hide the paper wrapper was a problem.

A regular source of income for me and a buddy was to get on our bikes and search the ditches for coke bottles. Sold them at the foot mart up front, was it Davis Food Mart? Or Fords Food Mart? It was where Dad sent me to buy his cigarettes.

5 cents for the 6/8/10oz bottles, 10 cents for the 32oz bottles.

they were EVERYWHERE. unbelievable to think people used to randomly toss glass coke bottles (even the big ones!) out of their windows.

i didnt care..if i found FIVE it was SPACE INVADERS TIME at the superette!

We led a pretty bland life in regard to food, black pepper was about he only spice we used as far as heat goes.

My dad decided to eat one of those Chinese hot peppers in that stuff.....he damn near passed out. We all laughed so hard at him he got kinda mad.

Crazy, and I would walk the Lakeshore school ditches barefoot. I have cuts in my feet that are still scarred up from those days. Barefoot in a sewage ditch, I would pass out if my little darlings did that

My memory is a little fuzzy but didn’t Ray wind up doing some jail time for being in possession of too many ducks on multiple occasions?

Everyone was 373 ( obviously before your time, little whopper snapper) and then they changed us to 343.

I'm sure both your brothers remember having a 373 first
