re: Handicapped Parking vs. Handicapped Restroom Stall

The wife having had polio 76 years ago and leg paralyzed, we have a communication scheme worked out for handling folks camped out on the pot with their cell phone. Usage of the facility is first come first serve, but after 8 minutes of dialogue coming out of the stall, I will open the hall door a bit and hollar loudly, wife are you okey. At a Hooters restaurant in Slidell after 10 minutes, I went to the manager and asked him to check if his employee was passed out, or seriously injured.
Respect is what makes partial accommodations work.

you would also be mortified understanding that a handicapped designated hotel room has adequate wheelchair access to the toilet about 30% of the time

Can they not wait for their turn like every one else?
I am not going to jump in front or even use it if I see a handicapped person entering, but I don’t think it’s the law that only the handicapped can use them like parking spots where next available parking may be far away and/or up an incline and so on.

Going off the rails here but, assuming a person is handicapped to the point they are in a wheelchair, but not handicapped to the point where they cant transfer themselves to the toilet, is the larger stall always the best choice ?
Obviously space for the wheelchair is a no-brainer, but it would seem the walls being closer together in a regular stall would give someone a better chance to pivot onto the toilet than having no wall on one side for balance? I ask this from experience as I had a major knee operation in high school and was in a chair for a week or so and I found the tighter stall a better option.
Of course, that meant leaving the chair unattended outside the stall and my friends would inevitably take my chair and push it into the girls restroom as I took a dump. I got the frickers back by putting epoxy on the handles, but that's neither here nor there. But a lot funnier topic than this one.

There are not nearly enough handicapped people to justify the number of stalls so I will use one if I need to.
I have been in some restrooms where the only toilet was in a handicap accommodated stall separated from 1 or maybe 2 urinals and the sink(s). Pretty sure they didn’t want me to take a dump in the urinal.

Should we not use the low urinal just in case a midget walks in?

I feel the same way about handicapped parking spaces. This lazy mf'ers need to walk, I pay more taxes than them. I park in their spots, they are welcome to park in mine.

Handicapped Restroom Stall

Sir, I too would rather shite my pants than take up a handicap stall that no one is using, just in case a type of person that makes up about 1% of the population comes in at that exact moment.

If I have to go bad enough, I will park in the handicap spot and run into the handicap stall.

there goes that respect issue again. Maybe it's an airforce attitude. Could be related to inability to meaningfully respond to a Houthi drone

The absolute worst is lazy or fat people using the electric scooters meant for elderly or truly disabled

As someone who is handicapped, I say leave my parking spaces and shitters alone. There are not many perks to having a damaged heart, but the sweet parking and premium shitters are two of them.

The sign helps someone [in a wheelchair chair] know which stall can accommodate a wheelchair
Show me a stall with a wheelchair symbol followed by the word ONLY and then it’s a different story.

Shut up, putz. I’ve never seen a handicapped person in a restroom.

I use a walker and need the handicapped stall. I have never had a problem waiting if it is occupied.
