Hand gun paperwork delay

I have a very clean record, and when I bought my 308 rifle last year there was no hold up. Today I purchased a Beretta 9mm from Bass Pro, but my paper work was delayed by DOJ?
The rational part of me thinks it's because of a back log in background checks due to spike in hand gun sales because of Covid 19.
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks I make a lot conservative posts on facebook, and follow several political conservative groups on facebook. Are liberals in the DOJ using social media to attack conservatives?

If I was doing a background check for handgun registration and found you use Facebook regularly, it would give me pause as well.

It’s just a back log because everyone is buying guns because they are afraid what will happen if dems take control. I had to wait til next day about a month ago even though I had bought one from same place the month prior

I bought a long gun a few weeks back and got delayed (so did the guy checking out ahead of me). It’s due to the increases in buying

i bought a 308 online in march and it only took like 15min for the background check to be done at the FFL

Either it’s the backlog, or you didnt give your SSN, and someone else has the same name snd returned s hit in the system. Passing the background check simply means they entered your name or SSN into the NCIS system and it comes up blank, that’s it! There is no digging around, checking your political leaning and Facebook groups.

Firearms are hot sellers right now. The system is most likely backed up. If delayed, you can expect up to 3 business days before being cleared.

Background checks are delayed at this time. LA. does not have any type of registration.
